Exporter of the year: the winner of the national competition in the category of middle exporters is the company J4 of Předměřice.

In December 2007, the Předměřice producer of tunnel baking band ovens was announced the winner of the national competition Exporter of the Year in the category of mid-sized exporters. The company catapulted to the top of the charts with the volume of export achieved from 2005 to 2006. During the short time of its existence, the company has become a lead player on European markets, and on markets in the Middle East and Far East. At the present the company supplies baking equipment to Belarus, Brazil, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Kuwait, Moldavia, Mongolia, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden and the Ukraine.

J4 s.r.o. has managed to penetrate the Mediterranean for the first time, more specifically the Cyprian market, where the company has signed a contract to deliver two large capacity ovens for the production of toast, hamburger buns, hotdog buns and other products.

They bake bread in ovens from Předměřice in Kuwait.

Předměřice nad Labem, 10 January 2007 – J4 of Předměřice nad Labem in the Králové Hradec region, will dispatch baking band ovens for 50 million crowns to Kuwait, where the company has already supplied 9 industrial ovens and has a contract to supply another ten in 2007.

“For the beginning of the year we also have export prepared to France, Russia, Brazil, Moldavia and Slovakia in addition to Kuwait. The volume of January’s orders is approximately 50 million crowns,” stated company co-owner Josef Mázl.
The company J4 was established in 1994 and deals with the development and production of cyclothermic tunnel baking band ovens and with delivering complete baking and bakery lines, and bakeries. The ovens are not only designed for baking rye, rye-wheat or wheat bread, but also various types of bread and pastries, fancy breads, pies, stuffed cakes, cookies, gingerbread, sponge cake biscuits, salted sticks and numerous other baked products.
During the short time of its existence, the company has become a lead player European, the Middle Eastern and Far Eastern markets. “Firstly it is given by the opening on the market following the bankruptcy of one large production company in Germany, from which a part of its clients came to us, and secondly history. We still have good contacts in Russia and countries of the former Soviet Union from the times of the Továren mlýnských strojů. We conquered markets in the Middle East and Europe by appropriately selected business politics,” explains Mázl.
The company’s export forms about 95 percent of its entire production volume. We cooperate for example with producers from former East Germany. With regards to volume, cooperation constitutes up to 40 percent of our production and thus secondarily we employ another 50 persons. At the same time, we are preparing investments into the construction of new production halls in Předměřice. However, there are problems with acquiring qualified workers. Primarily welders, locksmiths, metal workers and others which is why we have also already begun searching on the Romanian job market,” Mázl describes employment problems.
At present J4 employs approximately 100 persons in Předměřice. According to preliminary economic results, the company increased its turnover from the previous year’s 193 to last year’s 314 million crowns. It is another jump in growth just as in 2004, when the company’s turnover only totalled 108 million crowns. The company will also maintain last year’s earnings at a level of 35 million crowns. J4 is a genuine Czech company, which is managed by several physical entities.
